BUILT ON PASSION. FORGED FOR PROTECTION.
The story behind Alpha K9 FLA—nearly two decades of real-world experience, family commitment, and uncompromising K9 standards in Myakka City, Florida.
From a Personal Need to a
Lifelong Mission
Alpha K9 FLA began long before it had a name. My journey started on October 3, 2006—the same day my son was born. While I was at the hospital welcoming my child into the world, my home was broken into. On what should have been one of the happiest days of my life, I faced a stark reality: How do I make sure my family is protected when I’m not there?
That question changed everything.
Soon after, Figo came into my life—my first personal protection dog. Figo wasn’t just a dog; he became my partner and the trusted protector of my family. Through him, I experienced the intelligence, loyalty, discipline, and commitment that a properly trained protection dog brings into a home.
To keep Figo sharp, confident, and reliable, his training had to be continuously reinforced. However, finding quality trainers was a challenge. Some trainers were not what they advertised, while others made high-level training prohibitively expensive. Instead of relying on others, I decided to learn the discipline myself.
What began as a necessity quickly became a lifelong passion. For nearly 20 years, I have owned trained protection dogs, worked hands-on with working breeds, and learned from experts across the K9 industry.
A Shared Vision in Myakka City
In 2024, a pivotal new chapter began. While training dogs with a working group in Myakka City, Florida, I met Clay. We immediately connected over a shared passion for K9 development, but what stood out most was Clay’s integrity and his absolute refusal to compromise on quality.
What started as two trainers working together quickly evolved into a shared vision. By combining our knowledge, techniques, and unique strengths, we realized we could build something stronger together than either of us could build alone.
That vision became Alpha K9 FLA.
Tailored K9 Development for Every Family
Our philosophy
We don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Every client, home, and family dynamic is different:
– Dependable Companions: Exceptional obedience and social balance for daily life.
– Home & Property Security: Greater confidence, deterrence, and perimeter control.
– Elite Protection K9s: Highly trained, capable defenders for personal and family safety.
We believe the dog should fit the person—not
the other way around.
Serving Sarasota, Manatee County, and communities across Florida, Clay and I develop dogs tailored specifically to your lifestyle, expectations, and safety requirements. Our core focus remains on temperament, control, absolute reliability, and the bond between the dog and its family.
